Kitchen and bathroom deep cleaning: what a professional reaches that a regular clean doesn't

By J-Guard Services · Updated 4 November 2026

The kitchen and bathrooms are the two rooms a regular clean never fully reaches — grease on cabinet tops, scale on taps and tiles, grime in the grout, dust in the exhaust. A deep clean is scoped to get into all of it.

What the kitchen gets

  • A full spring clean: cabinet exteriors, the stove, and appliance exteriors such as the refrigerator and oven.
  • A shampoo scrub wash of the floor.
  • Cobwebs, ceiling, fan, lights and switches.
  • On an unfurnished or move-in clean, cabinet interiors too, since they are empty.

What the bathrooms get

  • Toilets, sinks and bath fittings cleaned.
  • Tiles scrubbed on both walls and floors — where grout grime and scale sit.
  • Mirrors and exhaust fans.
  • Floors scrubbed and sanitised.

Hard-water scale — and the one thing to insist on

Hard water leaves scale on taps, glass and tiles that a normal clean will not shift. The agents used for interiors are branded and pH-neutral, diluted to the surface. Heavier bathroom scale sometimes needs an acid wash — and that should only ever be done with your approval, because the wrong acid on the wrong surface etches tiles and corrodes fittings. Insist that a company asks before it acid-washes anything.

Is it a service of its own?

Kitchen and bathroom deep cleaning is part of a full interior deep clean rather than something sold separately — the same room-by-room checklist covers the whole home, these two rooms included. If the home is empty, an unfurnished or move-in clean reaches cabinet interiors as well. Interior deep cleaning is priced per square foot of floor area and confirmed before work begins.

Common questions

Can you deep clean just the kitchen and bathrooms?

Kitchen and bathroom deep cleaning is part of a full interior deep clean, worked to the same room-by-room checklist, rather than sold on its own. Say so when you book if you want the focus there.

How is bathroom tile scale and grout grime removed?

With branded, pH-neutral agents and tile scrubbing on both walls and floors. Heavier scale may need an acid wash, which should only be done with your approval — the wrong acid etches tiles and corrodes fittings.

Are exhaust fans and appliances included?

Bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and appliance exteriors — the stove, refrigerator and oven outsides — are part of the clean. For the inside of a kitchen chimney or an oven, ask when you book, as those are handled case by case.
