Privacy Policy

Effective 22 July 2026

This policy explains what we collect when you use the J-Guard website or book a service, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We have tried to write it plainly, and to describe what this site actually does rather than what a policy template assumes it does.

1. Who is responsible for your data

J-Guard Services Pvt. Ltd., registered office 2/452A Eroor Road, Kappattikavu, Thrippunithura, Ernakulam, Kerala 682306, is the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through this website in India.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you are the Data Principal — the person the data is about.

2. What we collect when you book or contact us

When you send a service request through the site, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your mobile number, including the country dialling code;
  • the district and region you are in, and the service area you selected;
  • the services you chose and any quantities you entered — for example, the number of sofa seats or rooms;
  • your preferred service date, if you gave one.

Our contact form additionally collects your email address and the message you write. The careers form collects your name, phone, and home district. The partner enquiry form collects your name, phone, and city. The coverage-request form collects your phone and the area you would like us to serve.

We ask for your address and any access details on the phone, when we call you back — not through the website.

We use all of this to call you back, quote for the work, schedule a crew, deliver the service, invoice it, and keep a record of what we did for you.

3. Verifying your number

We send a one-time code over WhatsApp to confirm the number you gave us is yours and reachable. This stops fake bookings sending our crews to addresses nobody asked for.

The code is sent through J-Guard's own verification service, the same one our mobile app uses. Delivery over WhatsApp is carried out by Meta Platforms as the messaging provider, and their handling of the message is governed by their own terms.

Your request is saved when you submit it, before the code is sent. If you never enter the code, we still hold the request and may call you about it.

4. What we collect automatically

We run our own analytics, on our own servers, and there is no advertising network anywhere on this site. What we measure depends on a choice you control, and we ask for it the first time you visit.

Always on, and anonymous

Whatever you choose, we measure whether the site itself is working:

  • which pages were viewed, how long the visit lasted, and how far down each page was scrolled;
  • how quickly pages loaded, and any errors thrown by our own code;
  • the screen and window size of the device, the page that referred you, and any campaign tag in the link you arrived through.

This is tied to a session identifier that is erased when you close the tab. It sets no lasting marker on your device, so a later visit is not connected to this one and none of it identifies you.

Only if you agree

If you say yes to the notice, we additionally record:

  • a visitor identifier that persists between visits, which is what lets us tell a returning visitor from a new one;
  • clicks, including where on the page you clicked, and repeated clicks in the same spot — this is what our heatmaps are built from;
  • which form fields you focused on, and when a form was submitted — the field names only. We never record what you type into a form. Your name, number, and message reach us only when you actually submit the form, not as you type;
  • an approximate city, region, and country, looked up once per session as described below.

With this on, the events are grouped into a session our staff can replay as a sequence of pages, clicks, and scrolls. It is not a screen recording and it does not contain anything you typed.

Say no, or change your mind later, and the persistent identifier is deleted from your browser rather than merely ignored, and anything already waiting to be sent is discarded.

Finding your nearest branch

Separately from analytics, and whatever you choose above, we look up your approximate city and country from your IP address so the site can show you the right branch, phone number, and prices. Without it we cannot tell where to serve you.

That lookup is performed by a third party, ipwho.is, which receives your IP address in order to answer it. We do not store your IP address, and the result is kept only for the current session.

Rate limiting. Our servers also use your IP address briefly, in memory, to stop any one source flooding our forms. It is not written to any database.

5. Cookies and browser storage

We use very little, and none of it for advertising.

  • a cookie remembering which country you chose for service, so you aren't asked every visit. Lasts one year.
  • a random session identifier for the anonymous measurement above. Discarded when you close the tab.
  • remembers your answer to the privacy notice, so we don't ask again. Lasts until you clear it.
  • a persistent visitor identifier. Only ever created if you agree, and deleted again the moment you withdraw.
  • record that you asked us to measure nothing at all. Lasts until you clear it.

To change any of this, use the Tracking choices link at the foot of any page. You can allow everything, keep only the anonymous basics, or switch measurement off completely. Your choice takes effect immediately — you do not need to reload the page — and it applies to this browser on this device.

Because the choice is stored in your browser, clearing your browsing data clears it too, and we will ask again on your next visit.

You can also block or clear all of this in your browser settings. Blocking jg-country simply means you will be asked to choose your country on each visit.

6. Embedded content

Some pages embed videos from YouTube. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set tracking cookies unless you play the video. Once you press play, Google receives the request and their privacy policy applies to it.

Our Instagram section shows images hosted on our own server and links out to Instagram. Nothing loads from Instagram unless you click through.

7. Who else sees your data

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We share it only as follows.

  • Our branches and platform members. The branch that will actually do your job receives your name, number, address, and job details. They are bound by contract to use it only for that job.
  • Our email provider. Enquiries and booking notifications are emailed to our own staff mailbox, carried by our mail host or by our fallback delivery provider.
  • Our verification service, and through it WhatsApp, for the purpose described in section 3.
  • Our geolocation lookup, ipwho.is, which receives your IP address as described in section 4.
  • Our own mobile app backend, where your booking is passed into the same system our app and call centre use.
  • Professional advisers, auditors, and authorities, where the law requires it or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim.

8. Data leaving India

Our geolocation lookup and our fallback email provider are located outside India, so your IP address and the contents of enquiry emails may be processed abroad. WhatsApp message delivery is handled by Meta's infrastructure, which is also outside India.

We make these transfers only to countries not restricted by the Central Government under section 16 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

9. How long we keep it

  • Booking and enquiry records: eight years from the date of the booking, so we can honour warranties, answer complaints, and meet tax and accounting requirements.
  • Unverified requests that never became a job: twelve months, then deleted.
  • Analytics events: twenty-four months, then deleted.
  • Careers applications: twelve months, unless you ask us to keep them longer.

When a retention period ends, or when you successfully ask us to erase your data, we delete it from our live systems. Backups are overwritten on their own cycle.

10. Keeping it safe

The site is served over HTTPS. Our booking database sits on a server we control, not a shared third-party platform.

No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say so than claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the Act requires.

11. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:

  • ask what we hold about you and what we have done with it;
  • have it corrected if it is wrong, or completed if it is incomplete;
  • have it erased, where we no longer need it for the purpose you gave it for and no law requires us to keep it;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated;
  • withdraw consent at any time — this stops future processing, but does not undo what was lawfully done before;
  • complain to us, and if we do not resolve it, to the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these, email enquiry@j-guard.com, or write to the Grievance Officer named below. We will need to confirm your identity — normally by verifying the mobile number on the record — and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.

13. Children

Our services are booked by adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not profile or advertise to children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
